Catching up

Finally got the pics loaded and ready to go.....

our second day on the road.....crossing the East River in the Florida Panhandle....sorry, not very exciting....

Westward Ho!  Continuing on.....this was going through the Baton Rouge, LA area.....it was hard to get many pics from the window of the truck going 70 MPH down the highway.  The first few days were very long driving days so it really wasn't an option to stop and sight see.....and it's hard to just pull over when you're schlepping a 38' RV.
Day 3....approaching Houston....the beginning of 3 days through Texas....that is a very big state!
We arrived at the RV park in Ft. Stockton....the park was nice but what a depressed area....no photos.
It seemed liked it took forever to get through Texas..... notice the look on Mischka's face....."please get me out of Texas!"

The windmills were pretty cool.....thousands of them.....again, hard to get decent photographs from a speeding vehicle....but you get the picture.........

Came through some crazy weather as we crossed into New Mexico....55 MPH winds!  We ahd to buy lead weights to put in my pockets!  But you can tell, the scenery is magnificent!  Although very desolate....let's just say, we wouldn't want to break down out here!

The 2 pics below are of the view from the RV....the park isn't my favorite....see the river rock?  That's what surrounds all the campsites.  The dog walk is a distance from the site....Mischka wasn't about to walk that far to do his business....we became park rule violators!

For those of you who know that Dean and I love our penny slot machines, this is the dangerous view from the RV park.....yeah!  Way too close....although we've shown restraint
In the middle of everything, Mischka got sick.....apparently he ate one or two of my knee-hi's and topped it off with a piece of charcoal!  Needless to say we didn't get much sleep the other night!  He scared us a little but never stopped wagging his tail.....or eating.  He's doing fine now.

Today we went to Santa Fe.....the Georgia O'Keefe Museum is awesome....in addition to her paintings, there was and Ansel Adams photography exhibit.

Yes, that is snow on the mountain tops.....headed toward Santa Fe.....the mornings have been pretty chilly....but the days warm up and they are sunny and DRY....
Thought this was a pretty cool looking church.....they rang the bells at noon and they could pretty much been heard throughout the town....actually they sounded like they could be heard throughout the state!
Is this some sort of a short joke????  We had lunch at The Shed....very yummy.....and most of their interior doors looked like this.  The one leading out to the patio actually had padding on it!

Santa Fe is a fabulously artsy town....I could live there!  I spent about an hour in one of the bead shops....not only looking at the merchandise but chatting with one of the owners.  A fun afternoon,
but sadly we bid Santa Fe good bye and headed back to camp.

Tomorrow Dean's playing golf and I'll go to the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque....looking forward to it.  On Monday we pack up the RV and head to our next stop....Flagstaff, AZ and some Grand Canyon sightseeing!

 Namaste,
Tobi
